20 mph past school - www.20splenty.org

Temporary closure:

This path could be converted to a shared cycleway/footpath and provide an alternative route into Farnborough

Cycleway:
Problem
141355

There are plenty of beautiful cycle paths that aren’t being maintained, hedgerows and grass is growing into them. To maintain the cycle paths council needs to cut the edges to keep them wide enough.

Cycleway:

This very busy pavement is very narrow, and now, during the quiet Lockdown, overhung with foliage.

Track:
Problem
139563 Photo #139563

Terrible road surface and lots of broken glass.

Road environment:
Problem
135673

Visibility is very poor regardless of which way you are crossing.

Cycleway:
Problem
135669

Pavement too narrow. Students bunch up in large groups. Overhanging shrubbery doesn't help.

Track:

Build a cycle way from tesco to the A331

Cycleway:
Problem
128272

Safer crossing needed for pedestrians. Cars come off of the roundabout at highspeed, needs traffic calming or zebra/pelican crossing.

Track:
Problem
128271

Very busy crossing and long waits to cross mean that social distancing is almost impossible.

Track:
Problem
128269

Lack of priority over side road adds danger for pedestrians and cyclists. Please give the path the same priority as the road it follows.

Lack of priority over side road adds danger for pedestrians and cyclists. Please give the path the same priority as the road it follows.

Cycleway:
Problem
128266

The surface on this path is disgraceful. It needs urgently resurfacing before someone hurts themselves.

Track:
Problem
128264

Crossing here is dangerous and you frequently have to wait a long time for a gap in the traffic. I think a pelican crossing should be installed here.

Track:
Problem
128263

This used to be the main route from Fleet to Farnborough and would make an ideal cycle and pathway away from traffic if it was reopened.

Cycleway:
Problem
128262

This crossing point is dangerous. The welcome to Farnborough sign blocks your view of traffic and motorists view of people waiting to cross. Should be a zebra crossing or at least remove the sign and cut back vegetation to improve sight lines

Cycleway:
Problem
128257

Cycleway along main road does not have same priority as road. It is dangerous that the cyclelane has to give way to every little sideroad, usually safer to ride on the road even if it angers motorists.

The cycle lane and path should be made continuous across sideroads. The ideal would be raised platform but could be done with moved give way markings or painted zebra crossings.

Rat run needs a modal filter to create safer street

Temporary closure:
Problem
124402

Ively Road cycle path is too narrow for social distancing

Cycleway:
Problem
124299

Very difficult to find a route S to N for cycle users because of the one way flow of traffic.

Cycleway:
Problem
124133

A cycle way so cycles can go from the high street to grosvenor road

Cycleway:
Problem
124132

The ash road/high street needs a cycle way from hospital hill to lower farnham road.

Cycleway:
Problem
124051

Existing shared use path along A327 is too narrow for pedestrians to social distance, let alone cyclists. Add on-road segregated cycleway between Pinehurst Car Park and Ively Road.

Cycleway:
Problem
124036

Segregated cycleway along A325 required south of Allisons Road to Upper Weybourne Lane - existing facilities either closed or too narrow even for pedestrians to social distance (about 1.5m wide in places!)

Cycleway:
Problem
122455

Pavement very narrow and also for cycle users pushing bikes. Impossible for social distancing. Introduce pedestrian phase to get under the bridge using the carriageway.

Track:
Problem
122349

Narrow path with cars parked makes it difficult to get up / down road, especially if a train has arrived when the college /schools go back. Road could be narrowed to single carriage to allow space for pedestrians (would also slow down cars that often speed down to the station)

Track:
Problem
122344

Tree interferes with path, makes it impossible to distance and very near to park and bridge

Track:
Problem
121932

If the council could cut the leaf growth around the bottom of the trees which goes across the footpath. Generally please advise all residents of RBC to keep their hedges, trees, not overhanging the pavement, there any so many unmaintained front garden bushes etc., that heavily impact on the available pavement space. There are also many raised pavement areas caused by the large trees causing lots of potential trip hazards appreciate there is not a magic money tree but any improvements would help.

Track:

Pavements to south Farnborough junior school only wide enough for one person under social distancing rules. Pavements are on both sides of road make them into a one way system and insist parents drop off at king George v and use dedicated school footpath

Track:
Problem
121679

Tiny cramped pavement where the only pedestrian crossing is to the Meads. Too much road space here. Really inhospitable.

Track:
Problem
121666

Close 1-way entrance to Clockhouse residential road. Pavement already narrow here, this has always been one of the most inhospitable parts of Clockhouse Rdbt

Temporary closure:
Problem
121659

A closure here will provide a continuous commuter pavement & cycleway SUP for commuters and Wavell pupils, and reduce rat running through Farnborough Park

Temporary closure:
Problem
121649

Rat Run onto A323 leaving inhospitable junction and excess traffic through residential South Farnborough Area. Traffic should be utilising A325 and bigger Queens Rd roundabout to head East.

Temporary closure:
Problem
121645

Popular pedestrian route to Co-Op and King George park. Pavement only on one side, narrow on other.

Track:
Problem
121642

Close entry to Ship Lane. Pavement only exists on one side in many places. Safety issue of through traffic rat running and not using dual-carriageway A325.

Temporary closure:
Problem
121637

Pavements to and from Farnborough Station onto H&B inadequate for social distancing, especially with increased residential density in the area.

Track:
Problem
121627

Two lanes in both directions, under-utilised, leaving very narrow pavements and incomplete walking and cycling. Redesign to remove middle crash barrier and release wider cycling and walking space in the centre of town.

Cycleway:
Problem
121624

Pedestrian refuge is tiny, especially for social distancing outside Lloyds Chemist, where customers queue down the narrow pavement.

Track:
Problem
121590

At this point there is a shared use path for cyclists and riders. There are also railings to herd people towards the crossing which I believe is a toucan. It will be very difficult to cross the road at the right time and maintain social distancing.

Track:
Problem
120598

Pedestrian refuges are too small to respect social distancing. Here and in many other places.

Track:
Problem
120534

The pavement on both sides of the road are narrow. There is a very narrow cycle way travelling South. Pedestrians could use cycle way going South. Travelling North a big problem for pedestrians. Suggest 20 mph speed limit for vehicles.

Track:
Problem
117787

Gun Hill is now one way for all traffic in an uphill direction. Needs to be 2 way for cycle users.

Cycleway:
Problem
117411

There is a 2 way cycle way here that pedestrians have to use as well. The path at around 2 metres wide is not wide enough for two way cycling yet alone pedestrians as well. The speed limit on this section of road is 40 mph with no divide between the path and road. The non traffic side of the road has a drop into vegetation.

Trafgic calming- my experience was that most passing cars would aim to go centrally between the cushions.

The railway tunnel is narrow and so apparently in order to get cyclists out of the way this slipway invites them onto the pavement for a prompt dismount and walk along the narrow footpath.

Hampshire's mean-spirited implication that "Partnership" doesn't work anywhere else.

At best we can surmise that a project (we know not what), or projects, once worked well enough that they persuaded the railway company to permit the installation of this sign because they thought that rail travellers ought to know about it, whatever it was.
